Prohibited funding case, Election Commission’s deadline to submit response to PTI is September 19

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has given two weeks time to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to submit a response to the show cause notice issued by party chairman Imran Khan regarding confiscation of prohibited funding to the government in the case of prohibited funding. The hearing has been adjourned till September 19.

Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja headed by Nisar Ahmed Durrani, Shah Muhammad Jatoi, Babar Hassan Bharwana and Justice (R) Ikramullah Khan issued a show cause notice regarding confiscation of PTI foreign funding. but has been heard.

During the hearing, Shah Khawar Advocate appeared on behalf of PTI and sought four weeks more time to submit the reply. Shah Khawar Advocate said that some documents from abroad have not been received yet, only after receiving all the documents. Answer will be submitted. KP, a member of the Election Commission, inquired how long the prohibited funding case had been going on for? , to which Shah Khawar said that the prohibited funding case had gone on for 8 years. The Chief Election Commissioner remarked that this case should also be run for 8 years? .

Later, the Election Commission has adjourned further hearing till September 19, giving PTI a last chance to submit its reply.

Accepting the request of PTI to give 2 weeks time to Shah Khawar, the Chief Election Commissioner said that it should be ensured that time is being taken for the last time.
