Floods in Afghanistan caused a minor apocalypse, thousands of houses were destroyed, 20 people died

KABUL: Floods in eastern Logar province of Afghanistan have wiped out entire villages. According to news agencies, 20 people have died and 30 have been injured as a result of natural disasters.

According to local media, dams broke after continuous rains in Logar province. The floodwaters entered the residential area and swept away 3,000 houses in its path. In many districts, entire villages of Pura met. During the rescue operations, 20 bodies were found while more than 30 were injured. 5000 acres of gardens were completely destroyed in the floods and 2000 cattle were also killed.

The flood water is standing several feet due to which the relief operations are facing difficulties. Due to the non-release of frozen Afghan funds by international forces, the government is suffering from severe financial crisis. Lack of funds is also a hindrance in relief work. The Taliban government, which was established in Afghanistan in August last year, also lacks machinery and expert rescue teams. The government has appealed to the international organizations to help the Afghan people.
